Dedicated to a pioneer
that helped make Marina del Rey a reality
Some of the many
photographs supplied by Linda L. Schmidt,
daughter of the late Larry Norman. (Clicking on these photos will generate a much larger, better detailed
image.)
Larry
Norman at Mt. Baldy. An avid snow skier as well as an
avid water skier. With Lake Los Angeles just a short two blocks
from his home Larry and family went snow skiing a great deal.
A
picture of early Venice. In the lower right hand corner is
Trailer City at 346 Washington Street. The lower left corner
is Nightingale Elementary School. The roller coaster in the
middle of the picture was at Pacific Ocean Park, a.k.a. P.O.P.
The canal in the picture is the main canal from the ocean.
Larry
Norman (with the hat on), and my wife Rose sitting at a table
with Lester (Robbie) Robinson and his wife. Robbie managed
and wrote for the Venice Vanguard newspaper.
The
young boy skiing is Larry's son Vincent who passed away in
1995. He is being towed by Larry, daughter Linda and a friend.
(Notice in the background, on top
of the hill, sits Loyola University.)
